I tend to lean towards the white. It will help lighten up the room and it matches your white wooden trim around your windows and doors. I would however like to know if they make a 2-tone wooden blind? Wouldnt it be great to choose simply with a “pull of a cord”? I always comment when I pass by a home that has wooden colored blinds…it looks dark and not so neat. I wish they make (if they dont already) a 2 tone blind. Maybe they do? Is there such a thing?

I would recommend white blinds, as white blinds can lighten up the room, like your husband thinks, and white blinds go with more colors and styles. Thus, if you were to ever change the room or repaint it, you would not need to change the blinds as well. I think wood is too much of an old style, and generally prefer a clean white that matches most other interiors.

I think white would do, because it would make the room brighter. It would be great for the kid’s room.

Amy, thanks for the input. We did consider blue, but the room looks out the front of the house, and blue would look odd if you are standing outside. I think at this point we are considering fabric roman shades, because wood blinds and wovens are inside-mount, and there is almost no clearance on the inside of the trim to mount them. That’s why I’m feeling kind of paralyzed right now! Thank goodness the boys can sleep through early-morning light!

That’s a tough one. I like the idea of matching the window with white blinds, since you may have them open at times. But, I truly think that a woven or bamboo roll up would suit the room the best with the quilt and such.

On a differnt note, have you considered a blue blind with a white stripe? I think you could definitely pull it off in that room as long as it was the right blue.

I love the idea of woven natural blinds to add some texture. I’d be concerned that white blinds might call too much attention to windows and doors, and make the room look choppy.
