Food-Inspired Design, Part II

Well, I guess I was wrong. I said yesterday when I posted about Jessica Bonness’ food-inspired rooms that I didn’t think anyone would look to food when decorating a room.

Well. I got an email today from a reader in Florida, saying she did just that. Here’s how a bowl of black beans and rice — with a dollop of yellow corn — translates into Lynda Quintero-Davids’ bedroom:

“I’m Latin and live in South Florida, so black beans and rice are a staple,” Lynda, a stylist and room stager, wrote in an email. “But when I added yellow corn to a serving, I was so inspired I took a quick picture of it, and the next day transformed the room, all with existing decor item I already had.”

Now, I know this room isn’t in DC, but Lynda was nice enough to respond to my post about a DC designer, so it counts in my mind. Here’s a link to her own blog, right here. Good work!

Love it. On my next design project I’m taking one cue…a peacock! Can you tell me where that chrome bedside lamp is from in the bedroom?

  3. THANK YOU Jennifer!! That was so kind of you – Especially since no I’m not in DC – What a totally unexpected delight!! I greatly appreciate it!

Thanks again… and I enjoy reading your blog. I’m glad I subscribed to it.
