Designers Announced for DC Design House 2016

Hello again! Apologies for the two weeks of radio silence—I’ve been traveling a great deal, both to my college reunion and then on a fabulous trip with my sister to Amsterdam (more on that in an upcoming post). As I settle back into DC and adjust to Eastern Standard Time, I’m happy to pass along the list of designers that was just announced for the DC Design House, which will take place Oct. 1-30 at 2509 Foxhall Road (next door to the 2013 DC Design House!).

There are several designers whose work we’ve seen in previous show houses, which I’m looking forward to seeing again. But there are also some new names in the mix, whose portfolios promise some exciting looks for this house.

Designer Jonathan Senner, for example, will be doing the large dining room. I love his eye for this Logan Circle residence:

And then there’s Rachael Dougan of Vivi Interiors, who’s doing a bedroom on the second floor. You might remember the gorgeous apartment she decorated on the Southwest waterfront, which was recently featured in the Washington Post:

I’m expecting a crisp, contemporary look from Quintece Hill-Mattauszek of Studio Q Designs for the Third Floor balcony and anteroom, based on this lovely living room that smartly combines shapely, neutral furnishings with a pop of purple on the walls:

  3. A great list of designers. And I now dream of creating a “bedroom in the clouds” ala ViVi Interiors. Glorious!
