Georgetown Jingle Trees 2012

It’s that time of year again! There’s nothing like the designer trees at the Four Seasons Hotel, to be auctioned off for the annual Georgetown Jingle, that gets me in the mood for the holidays, especially knowing that the money raised for the Dec. 16 event goes to Georgetown University’s pediatric cancer programs.

There are 17 trees this year, outfitted by our area’s best designers and architects, with a jewelry designer and event planner in the mix, too (and I urge you to go to this family-friendly fundraiser, and see all their incredible details for yourself).

All photography is by Kevin Allen, and each tree is designed in tribute to a young patient who’s been treated at Georgetown.

“It’s a Small World” by Sandi Hoffman, Sandi Hoffman Special Events

“Martini Tree” by Diane Darling, Darling Solutions. I adore the tiny vodka bottles and martini glasses.

“Holiday Punch—A Taste of Christmas” by Barry Dixon. And it does look yummy enough to eat!

“Santa’s Candy Land” by David Herchik and Richard Looman, JDS Designs. (David is the driving force behind the Jingle — he’s largely why this fundraiser exists.)

“Bells Will by Ringing” by Sandy Meyers, Sandra Meyers Interior Design. The tiny bells are so intricate…

“Lego Tree” by Samantha Friedman, Samantha Friedman Interior Designs. Indulge me a few detail shots — I can NOT believe how she made every ornament and gift out of Legos!

“Season’s First Snow” by Christopher Patrick and Kaitlyn Andrews-Rice, Christopher Patrick Interiors. Kaleo Kala of KALA Studios cut the wood and framed it around the piping. The wires of the lights in themselves form garlands, lovely.

“Winter Wonderland” by John Coplen, Alter Urban LLC. John made a dollhouse, with copper roof and modern furniture, which completely fits what this architect does for his real-life clients.

“Suess-tacular” by Allie Mann, Case Design

“Journey to Oz and Back” by Patrick J. Baglino Jr., Patrick Baglino Interior Design. Note the ruby slippers coming out from under the skirt!

“Believe” by Debbie Henry, The Velvet Frog

“La Dolce Vida” by Anastasia Kessler, Dolci Gelati & Nicholas Beck, JDS Designs. This has to be one of my favorites!

“Deconstructed Textile Tree” by Kate Robertson & Whitney Osterhout, Corcoran College of Art + Design. I love its sleek, shiny lines.

“Festival of Italian Torches” by Miriam Dillon & Evelyn Smith, Barnes Vanze Architects. This auction item includes gifts and goodies from local Italian purveyors, so you get more than just a beautiful tree!

“Storybook” by Darlene Molnar, Darlene Molnar LLC & Sara Knowles, ETSK Design. I love the cutouts from vintage children’s story books.

“12 Days of Christmas” by Allison Priebe Brooks & Paul Baldwin, Queen Bee Designs. Check out the Queen Bee jewelry that’s worked into this vignette!

And last, but not least:

“Paint the Holidays” by Dee Thornton, Houseworks Interiors. I adore that whimsical ladder!

Now that you’ve had a taste of the trees, go down there and see more. They make the entire lobby of the Four Seaons absolutely magical. Happy holidays!
