Washington is #NotASwamp

I was born and raised in this town, and never before have I felt such pride to be a Washingtonian… which is saying a lot, because, well, it’s the whole point of my blog—celebrating all things beautiful about DC. Yesterday’s march leaves me with an incomparably beautiful memory.

And that was just from my own camera. Yesterday was about so many things, but a common theme might be celebrating all things that our new president has dismissed and vilified. Our city, not least among them.

That’s why FotoDC has put a call out for those who love it here to proclaim that Washington is #NotASwamp. “We invite you to tag @FotoWeekDC and hashtag your Washington moments #NotASwamp, #FotoDC, and create a great visual resource library of the nation’s capital in this moment in history.”

As you can imagine, the hashtag has already received thousands of mentions on Instagram alone. Here are some of my favorites—not only protest pictures, but images that capture DC is all its glory.
