First Sale Ever at Salvations

I first met Barry Remley when I did a profile on her and her business, Salvations Architectural Furnishings, for Washington Spaces.

And as I wrote more home stories, her work kept appearing everywhere — it became clear that her metalwork, using architectural salvage in many of the designs, was a go-to for high-end interior designers. Whether it would be something like elegant drapery rods that were custom made, metal bed frames, or unusual accent tables, Barry’s pieces add a dash of sophistication to a room.

But it’s not cheap. So that’s why I was excited to hear that she’s having her first-ever sample sale at her Silver Spring shop Thursday and Friday. Here are a few couple items she’s posted on Facebook so far:

I adore her accent and cocktail tables.

Here is truly a find — a “mosaic” table with intricate designs underneath — no tchotchkes needed on top!

I saw these tables in person at the AmericanEye showroom at the DC Design Center, and got  a couple detail shots of the mosaics at the time:

Just gorgeous. The mosaics are created by a local artist.

The sale will also feature salvage pieces and items such as mirrors that are crafted  using details from Barry’s finds:

Check out the detail on this console, with a marble top no less:

Although they might not be on sale, here is a taste of some other things I love from Salvations:

This cocktail table with crystal details:

and this dining table, designed by David Mitchell as party of a new line for Salvations:

And this fire screen:

Here’s all the sale info — It’s definitely worth playing hooky for!
