This exhibition explores the architectural and social history of movie theaters in Baltimore from 1896 to the present. Photographs by award-winning Baltimore Sun photojournalist Amy Davis are joined by historic images, theater ephemera, furnishings, and architectural fragments to evoke memories of moviegoing and illuminate themes of loss and preservation.

Too Big: Rebuild by Design’s Transformative Response to Climate Change

Get the inside story of Rebuild by Design, the federal response devised to make coastal cities more resilient in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Henk Ovink, Dutch special envoy for International Water Affairs and principal for the Obama Administration’s effort, explains the innovative process he led, which was focused on building coalitions and running an intense international design effort. Following the talk, Ovink signs copies of Too Big (2018, nai010 publishers), available for purchase in the Museum Shop.
