Barnes Vanze Architects

I orchestrated an entire restructuring of this DC architecture firm’s website, working with developers and the firm’s principals to develop a new design, organization and navigation for the site. I wrote a new profile, all team bio Q&A’s, and every project description. I also manage and write most of the firm’s blog posts.

Salvations Architectural Furnishings

I managed the transition of this boutique furnishings manufacturer’s website to a more robust WordPress platform. In the process, I created new picture galleries to better promote its line of hand-forged custom iron furniture, started a blog, updated imagery, and copyedited old and inaccurate product descriptions.

The Brass Knob

I maintain the blog for this eclectic Adams Morgan shop full of architectural antiques and vintage curiosities. Owner Donetta George has asked me to write posts that help feature and promote the store’s various offerings, which change constantly with new inventory and finds.

I have created Houzz accounts for several designers, artisans and architects. The process involves gathering photos, writing captions and searchable keywords, and uploading them along with company information to this popular Website. My client profiles include:

Penno Interiors

Designer Rebecca Penno established her own business after working with larger firms for several years, and I helped edit, refine, and rewrite her bio and services page.

Victoria at Home

Using a template from, I built a new website for designer Victoria Sanchez to advertise both her design services and her new boutique, Victoria at Home, in Old Town, Alexandria. I wrote the copy, collected and uploaded images, wrote captions, and included back-end page descriptions for search-engine optimization.

Green Vacation Houses

I helped Bethesda, MD, architect Lee Foster develop copy for Green Vacation Houses, an outgrowth of Vacation House Review, which has gained success among design-minded vacation-house owners and renters. For Green Vacation Houses, I used information she provided and refined it—in many cases rewrote it—to make it appealing to both renters and owners of eco-friendly vacation homes.
